Derrick Little is a New York City made, but San Diego-based visual artist, writer and thinker. His work is influenced by magic, mysticism, and his reverence for all of life.
With his writings, paintings and drawings,
Derrick transports the creatures he meets, the adventures he has, and
lessons he learns in his nocturnal dreams and journeys into this waking world. Derrick utilizes the language of symbols for his work and regularly taps into their many cultural and varied historical interpretations to convey messages with his visual art. His face and body paintings harness a ritual use of makeup as a magical tool to transform humans, and allows them to literally "shift" shape before our very eyes.
